The Pathophysiology Behind the Pictures
As respiratory therapists at the bedside, we see many chest X-rays. But what is it about the pathophysiology of diseases that makes the chest X-rays look like that? This presentation will detail the pathophysiology of various neonatal and pediatric pulmonary diseases and explain what makes the images look the way they do. There will also be a brief discussion of treatment for selected diseases, with before-and-after images. This will demonstrate how the treatment changes the appearance of the x-ray by changing the pathophysiology in the lung.
