This course, provided in collaboration with the Environmental Protection Agency, presents information for educating patients about effective asthma management techniques. These include the role of skin testing to determine that allergens may contribute to an asthmatic condition and how smoking cessation benefits the asthmatic smoker or the asthmatic family members of a smoker. Knowledge of skin testing and smoking cessation are critical tools for respiratory therapists involved in the care of asthma patients.
